Details: We are currently looking for experienced Consultant Psychiatrists/Medical Officers to join our team.
We enjoy a stable workforce with a multidisciplinary team approach and key worker system to provide the best possible available treatment and support for our clients and their family/whanau in our community.
The Taranaki District Health Board Mental Health & Addiction Services provides a wide range of specialist services within the Taranaki region which includes New Plymouth City and coastline, and a large rural/lifestyle population in South Taranaki (Stratford/Hawera).
There are five distinct services:
* Acute Services - 23 bed inpatient unit (4 beds in IPC), crisis team, home based treatment service, high and complex needs community supported rehabilitation service with 4 beds.
* Adult Mental Health - 3 community teams, Tui Ora kaupapa Maori community mental health team and specialist services such as maternal, eating disorders, DBT, early intervention.
* Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.
* Mental Health Services for Older people.
* Alcohol and Drugs.
For Specialists to be eligible for provisional vocational registration in New Zealand you will need to have completed a post graduate specialist training programme, passed appropriate examinations and participated in formal continuing medical education programme.
Taranaki Base Hospital is a progressive, modern, hospital situated in coastal New Plymouth, the major city of the beautiful Taranaki Province. Taranaki caters for everyone and has a spectacular mountain, sweeping coastline and plenty of outdoors activities including hiking, skiing and fishing. The hospital has almost completed phase one of an $80 million dollar redevelopment plan.
